The Foundation has awarded $365,875 to 2017-18 American Quarter Horse Foundation scholarship recipients.

This year, the American Quarter Horse Foundation will award 150 students with a total of $365,875 for the 2017-18 academic year. Since its inception in 1976, the Foundation scholarship program has awarded more than $6.8 million in financial assistance to more than 1,200 American Quarter Horse Youth Association members.

The Foundation selects recipients based on financial need, academic merit, equine involvement and civic activities. These individuals are today’s students and tomorrow’s equine industry leaders. With an education, great mentoring and a love of the American Quarter Horse, these young adults will become the industry’s next generation of owners, breeders, trainers, journalists and veterinarians.

AQHA, the Foundation and its donors are honored to have created a legacy of support for its youth members. These scholarship recipients will be individuals who carry with them a passion and dedication to the American Quarter Horse as they begin their careers. They are the faces of AQHA’s next generation.

To find out this year’s scholarship recipients, read their extended biographies in the August digital issue of The American Quarter Horse Journal.
